WHO THE FUCK IS DONKEY PUNCH DISCO?
No one really knows exactly who Donkey Punch Disco is. His real name, race, age and sexual orientation are all questionable. In 2004, Dave Jackson received a demo CD in the mail. The CD was full of frightening songs with overly heavy beats and badly recorded rapping and screams, it was signed "Donkey Punch" and the album was called Fire Dragon Walrus. Dave tracked down Donkey, he was living in a cardboard box, was dressed in a potato sack and smelt of shit and fish cakes. His teeth were rotting and his eyes were yellow. Dave saw the musical potential of Donkey and took him under his wing. With help from Pleasant Productions, Donkey was able to release Fire Dragon Walrus in Australia, and it took off straight away developing a hardcore cult following and spawned a top 50 hit in the Australian charts in October... the song was, of course, "If Carlton Douglas Liked Dragons".
Although Donkey was a success, he was completely out of control. Urinating on concert goers, shaving cats and anal bead antics were a typical sight at a Donkey Punch Disco concert. He invaded Triple J studios, because he didn't crack the top 20 of the hottest one hundred, with a bag of his own feces and snot which he proceeded to pour over Will Anderson. However, these pranks didn't hinder his career and status, in fact it seemed to make him even more popular. In early 2005, Bum Sex Photo Album hit the shelves; the album nabbed a top 10 spot (the highest it reached was 7) in Australian charts, and the top 100 in the USA. It also had the now Donkey classic "Fooking Kids These Days Trip Out (Part II)" which got to 2 in the Aussie charts. Working on this album, Donkey met Busta Simes, a popular Melbourne rapper. The two became friends and Busta Simes invited Donkey to be Boomstick's DJ. Boomstick was the short lived rap trio of MC Quinzee, Busta Simes and J Scales.
Although Donkey only made two songs with them before tiring of J Scale's hissy fits and money hungry mindset, their second track together, "Big Jimmy Shuffle" was reasonably popular with die hard fans. After Bum Sex Photo Album, Donkey developed an obsession with a friend of Dave's called Lucas Testro. So much so that he wrote every track on his E.P., The Lucas Testro Experience, about him. The E.P. entered the charts at number 3 and contained Donkey's number 1 smash hit "Muthaphukka, I Will Stab You". On this E.P. Donkey had enlisted the help of a retarded man who only goes by the name Secret Mango to scream along with him. He discovered Secret Mango wandering around his backyard completely naked one evening and took pity, adopting the man child as his own. Both of them featured in Jackson's film The Snuff Machine in a small cameo with Donkey donning his famous black and white minstrel make up. Lately he's taken to dressing up as Batman... Smells Like Bill Irving (previously titled Dilsnikk Has Complied), his latest opus, is currently in the works.
